At Collie SHS, our moral purpose is to provide opportunities for all students to develop skills, common knowledge and resilience through high quality teaching to pursue pathways of their choice.The Youth Engagement and Support worker will strive for success for all students through improving the wellbeing, resilience, and pro-social behaviours of students by working in partnership with the Student Services team. The role will require strong monitoring and management of triage practices and processes within the Student Services team.Under the leadership of the Student Services Manager, they will ideally implement clear processes of support. Your exceptional relationship-building skills, knowledge, and proven ability to deliver outcome-driven interventions will promote high-level successes for students and contribute to the functional operation of Student Services.The successful applicant will participate in Students at Educational Risk (SAER) and case conference meetings within the school and with other agencies as appropriate, including the provision of information and consultancy advice as required. The successful applicant will also be required to work in partnerships with key services providers to coordinate and deliver activities that aim to support and engage students at risk.We are looking for someone who is reliable, relatable, and preferably has a history of building and maintaining relationships within a school community and with other key stakeholders. - Considerable experience working with individuals or small groups of students who are or may be at risk and implementing strategies to improve educational outcomes.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Negotiation, mediation and conflict resolutions skills with relevant experience working with students who require support.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team without direct supervision.
- Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines.
- A three (3) page statement addressing the Work Related Requirements (selection criteria), in context of the role and business needs of the school
- A CV of up to three (3) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position

- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
