This unique all ages music venue is a safe place for young people to attend live music events and attend a variety of arts programs.

We’re looking for an experienced Youth Events Officer on a part time fixed term contract who’s keen to hang with us at ‘HQ’. Your passion for Live music, events management and the arts will see you coordinating events and grant funded programs for our gig events space while making a positive impact on our talented young people. What you’ll be doing

This unique role will coordinate operations in our famous THE Y HQ GigSpace. You’ll oversee the managing of events and bookings in our gig space with up-and-coming talented artists along with coordinating grants funded programs. One of these programs is the award-winning Youth Squad. This is a group of passionate young people who have a keen interest in events management. You will be required to facilitate the group and impart your wisdom around events management.  At the end of shift, you’ll probably feel pretty chuffed. So, you should. You’ve just made another positive impact to our young people lives!

You’ll be great in this role if you…

  • Have a Cert III (or greater) in Youth Work, Education, Community Work, Social Work or other relevant discipline and equivalent experience
  • Experience in creating and executing youth focused events
  • Experience in events management and working in the live music industry
  • Understanding of the WA Youth Work Code of Ethics
  • Hold a current C class driver’s license.
  • Can obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
  • Can obtain a HLTAID003 First Aid certificate
  • Can obtain a Food Handling/Safety Certificate (Desirable)
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours, including weekends and evenings
