Job Description

Are you passionate about Youth Mental Health and looking for a rewarding role? EACH is currently seeking a Youth MentalHealth Intake & Assessment Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As part of the Mental Health Community Support Services (MHCSS) intake team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and equitable access to Mental Health services for individuals across the Eastern, Northern, Inner East, and South Eastern Melbourne catchments.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Manage incoming referrals from individuals, carers, Mental Health agencies, and community health services
  • Oversee the intake process for our Youth Residential Recovery Program and Youth Outreach Recovery Service
  • Coordinate referrals, chair selection panels, and promote our services to potential referral agencies and consumers
  • Collaborate with other EACH intake services and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Complete initial needs identification, Mental Health screening, risk assessments, and selection panel prioritization
  • Actively participate in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health, Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Psychology, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge and experience in youth developmental needs, Mental Health, and recovery work
  • Demonstrated experience in working with people with complex Mental Health needs, including treatment, support, and rehabilitation approaches
  • Experience in screening and assessing individuals with Mental Health needs and co-occurring issues
  • Understanding of harm minimization approaches to dual diagnosis (substance misuse and Mental Health issues)
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, including the ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals
  • Ability to triage and prioritise referrals and risks
