Youth Project Officer – Live4Life
Position No. 1000
Temporary Part time (0.6 EFT) until December 2025
Band 5 $43,821 - $50,102 yearly, plus 11% statutory superannuation
Live4Life is a mental health education and youth suicide prevention program designed specifically for rural communities. Wellington is the fifth Gippsland LGA to begin implementing this impactful model.
Youth Project Officer – Live4Life is an exciting job opportunity overseeing and supporting the establishment of a Live4Life Crew of young people in each of Wellington’s secondary settings. You will work alongside the Social Connection and Inclusion Officer – Youth Part, Schools & Community Partnership Group to guide the implementation of the Life4Life model throughout the community and facilitate a number of mental health and wellbeing promotion activities annually.
What your day will look like:
Work with young people and others in the community to help them build their mental health literacy.
Codesign mental health promotion initiatives of the “Youth Crews” at secondary schools as a part of the Wellington Live4Life program.
Assist and support the Youth Liaison Coordinator in different elements of the implementation of Live4Life model in Wellington.
You may be required at times to work after hours and weekends.

We are looking for someone with:
Outstanding communication and networking skills to work with young people, families, teachers and the wider community.
Qualifications in community development, youth work or mental health and/or proven and relevant experience in coordinating a large number of stakeholders including education facilities to deliver a program across a wide geographic area.
Experience working with young people from a wide range of backgrounds and personal experience, and in delivering youth programs.
The ability to motivate themselves, who can manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and manage their time and work in an efficiently.
