Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III, IV in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work, or a similar qualification relevant to working with youth and disabilities.
- Experience in managing and supporting youth with challenging behaviors and complex needs.
- Right to work in Australia.
- National Police Check.
- Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination.
- Flu vaccination (seasonal requirement).
- Australian driving license and car insurance.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care and support to young individuals with disabilities, including daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Assist with medication management under supervision.
- Facilitate community access for social activities, educational pursuits, and medical appointments.
- Work alongside young people and support the development of individual living skills, including preparing and cooking meals, and engagement in recreational programs.
- Provide support to young people in attending to their hygiene, health and nutrition. Report to senior staff on the day to day operation of the Youth House.
- Engage in and support the development of behavioral strategies that address challenging behaviors.
- Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of clients, maintaining accurate documentation as required.
- Work across a variety of shifts, including day shifts and sleepovers, to provide continuous support.
