Sowilo Community High School is a non-government independent CARE school for years 7-12 students. Established in 2001, our purpose is to re-engage educationally at-risk teenagers into life-long learning via holistic, alternative, flexible and individualised processes.
This is your opportunity to join our dedicated team of teachers and welfare workers in a variety of unique programs and activities. These include Outreach, Wilderness Camps and sporting activities. With your initiative, empathy and passion to inspire students educationally and socially, you will actively change the lives of young people.

The position is four (4) days per week for a 12 month tenure, commencing start of term 2, 2024. A generous Salary is offered based on experience and qualifications.
Essential criteria:
- Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Social Work, Counselling or equivalent
- Current Working With Children’s Check
- Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance
- Demonstrated experience working with youth in a similar role
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Excellent level communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Accurate attention to detail
