We are looking for a skilled Youth Worker experienced in working with a diverse range of young people whose keen to deliver the drumbeat and complementary case management support to upper primary school students across various Perth Metro primary schools. What you’ll be doing
Given you might be new to the youth services drumbeat program, you’ll spend your first few days’ learning. Don’t stress, you’ll have a great mentor to work with while you familiarise yourself with the drumbeat program that focuses on developing children’s social skills by exploring rhythm, along with learning to express emotions, resilience and collaborating within a group setting through drumming.
Once you’ve settled, you’ll visit various schools to facilitate the nationally recognised program along with providing case management support for the young people and their families. You’ll enjoy building your network connections with primary schools and services. And let’s not forget time for admin and report writing. At the end of your shift, you’ll probably feel pretty chuffed. So, you should. You’ve just made another positive impact to our young lives!
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Have a Cert IV (or greater) in Youth Work, Education, Community Work, Social Work or other relevant discipline and equivalent experience
- Hold a current C class driver’s license.
- Can obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
- Can obtain a HLTAID003 First Aid certificate
- Are passionate about facilitating group programs along with one-on-one support
- Have the ability to engage with young people in a variety of settings
