Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join UnitingSA’s teamas the Youth Worker for Youth Services to provide culturallyappropriate case management services, programs and support forYoung People and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally safe case management services to young Aboriginal people and their families.
- Work in partnership with young people and their families to develop goals, and implement strategies to meet their needs.
- Identify and set priorities, and manage high workloads to meet deadlines.
- Provide creative problem solving and application within a range of case management models.
- Provide information and referral pathways to support and encourage self-management.
- Deliver a culturally appropriate service that acknowledges culture, diversity and the impact of complex needs of young people.
- Work in partnership with young people and their families from a strengths-based perspective.
Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of working with vulnerable clients/families.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to young people.
- Understanding of the principles of social justice, empowerment and self-determination.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people with complex needs
- Demonstrated experience in case management including assessment, planning, referral and advocacy
