About the role
Our Youth Team is responsible for driving strategic youth engagement, community development and social impact objectives to enhance wellbeing, resilience, safety, social connectedness and cohesion of young people in Willoughby. This role will see you supporting our Youth Team through:
- The planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Council's Youth Services programs and activities
- Supervision at Chatswood Youth Centre, ensuring it is a place where young people feel safe and secure; offering opportunities to enhance social connections, relationships and engagement
- Partnerships with local youth service providers and local high schools
Required qualifications, skills and experience include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work/Youth Development, Social Sciences or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working with young people in a range of settings and culturally diverse environment
- Demonstrated understanding of assessment, referral and advocacy of and for young people
- Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Highly developed interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
- Marketing and multi/social media experience to assist stakeholder engagement
