Your Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate Youth Worker who enjoys working with young people in an education setting and is able to maintain trusted, professional relationships to work 4 days a week at our Armadale site.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Alternative Education Program and help disadvantaged students thrive through building employment and life skills. The successful applicant will join a dynamic team of educators and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all young people feel welcome, comfortable and part of the class
- Work on Individualized Safety Plans with the students
- Assist and support students with literacy, numeracy and other learning activities when required
- Provide appropriate written and verbal reports
- Help to deal with challenging behaviour and when possible help to resolve disputes
- Provide intensive support and mentoring. Be a positive role-model
- Be familiar with Duty of Care Requirements, processes and policies
- Collaborate with the teacher on all aspects of pastoral care
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in working with Youth at Educational Risk
- A National Police Clearance
- Working With Children Check
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with and relate to a broad range of people;
Desirable:
- A relevant Cert III or above in Youth/Community work
- Knowledge of Certificates in General Education for Adults CGEA
- A relevant Cert III or above in Education Support
- First Aid Certificate
