Youth Worker – Specialised substitute residential care (SSRC) - Central Coast & Newcastle
As a Youth Worker, you will be supporting and mentoring young people and their families within a Specialised substitute residential care setting. You will be working with children and young people aged 0-17 who are requiring some respite away from their family homes. The length of stays will vary depending on each individual's needs.
Roles include:
- Attend to the daily care needs – implementing daily routines, preparing meals, personal care, attending/booking appointments, housekeeping, supervision and assistance
- Administer medication
- Transporting to and from school, day programs, appointments, etc
- Provide support and guidance to the young person & their families
- Write comprehensive shift notes/reports
About you:
- Experience working as a Youth worker
- As a minimum, certificate IV in Youthwork or related field
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Current first aid
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current NDIS Workers Check
- Availability to work on a 24/7 roster, including sleepovers, active nights and weekends
- Valid driver's licence & Comprehensively insured vehicle
