Pegasus Community Care has been a staffing specialist for the Community Services Sector since 2002.
We are currently looking for staff who can commit to regular hours on a rotating roster in permanent full time, permanent part time or casual employment, supporting children/young people in out of home care.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for creating a positive and nurturing therapeutic environment through the provision of trauma informed care to children and young people who have high care needs.
The aim of the program is to support children and young people to make progress towards their recovery goals.
The program is based on the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) framework. As a Youth Worker you will become part of the child’s multi-disciplinary care team.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual who is driven to provide safe, nurturing and therapeutic services that enable children and young people to develop to their full potential.
To be considered for this position, you will hold a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Youth, or a Community Services related field. You must have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting, and an understanding of Legislation relevant to the role.
In addition, you will have highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills, crisis-management knowledge and intermediate computer skills. Disability and Mental Health experience will be highly regarded.
Prior to finalisation of your application you will need (or be willing to obtain) the following:
- NSW Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Clearance Check
- Evidence of Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency
- National Police Check (less than six months old)
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- The required NDIS Orientation Modules
- 2 relevant reference checks
