Your new company
This Federal Government Department is a vital member of Australia's national security community and oversees many functions including international relations, scientific research and development, procurement and purchasing and industry development and cooperation. Their mission is to protect and Australia's interests on both a national and international stage.
Your new role
The Department has a requirement for 10 additional staff to join a newly formed team. You will be responsible for providing security vetting services and operations, customer services, capability & coordination, appeals and support and industry liaison.
You will be required to:
- pre-assessment activities, such as triage and prioritise FWA and the coordination and review of data and documents relevant to FWA processing
- coordinate within a multidisciplinary team at level to ensure optimal outcomes for complex case management.
- utilise legal advice to interpret legislation against complex cases and translate this into risk management practices.
- support the development of risk management processes that underpin the drafting of reports to inform the Director in framing a recommendation to the delegate.
- identify and respond to stakeholders' information and records management requests and provide timely advice.
- engage with relevant stakeholders to achieve best practice and where appropriate share complex risk assessments and trend analysis.
- manage records in accordance with relevant legislation.
- undertake regular compliance monitoring for systems and practices.
What you'll need to succeed
New team members will need to apply the highest level of flexibility, adaptability, resourcefulness and initiative and have demonstrable experience in being able to operate in situations of uncertainty and ambiguity to ensure legislative and operational outcomes are achieved.
The following skills and experience are required as a minimum:
Experience working in a case management environment including assessing, treating, escalating, monitoring and managing individual applications;
Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality;
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse information;
- High level of organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office suite of Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook);
- The ability to communicate effectively; and
- For some tasks the ability to deliver repetitive activities to a high standard.
These positions will require candidates to hold a security clearance at a minimum NV1 level.

This contract will be available until the 31st of October 2024 with 12 month extension option that can be exercised upon the Department's discretion. The position will be working with a centrally located Federal Government Department and free parking is available. You will receive an attractive hourly rate inclusive of casual loading and overtime.
