Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a Debtors Officer to join our Finance Team.In this role you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective accounts receivable function for council’s miscellaneous and other debtors, including the maintenance of appropriate internal controls and compliance with statutory requirements. The role may also be required to assist with rating and property debtor processes.
In this busy role, you will support the organisation by:
- Assist with functioning of Council’s revenue collections areas of miscellaneous debtors in line with statutory requirements and Council’s customer service framework.
- Ensure all invoices are accurately processed and issued in a timely manner. Ensure sundry debtor accounts are maintained including creating new miscellaneous debtor
accounts and updating customer information in line with council’s policies and procedures. - Ensure all outstanding miscellaneous debts are followed through in accordance with council’s debt collection policies.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of miscellaneous debtor accounts including open item application and statements processed and issued monthly.
- Prepare reports and provide information required to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with rating and property functions and processes as required to assist the rates team.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures and guidelines that support Council’s revenue raising and debt collection responsibilities.
- Assist with functioning of Council’s statutory reporting and revenue collections areas in line with statutory requirements and Council’s customer service framework.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
- Financial administration experience or similar.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to priortise workloads and multitask.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
