Our client, an Australian owned market leader in their field is seeking individuals with a genuine interest in learning the art of precision cylindrical grinding and spindle technology to join their close knit production team in Cheltenham.
Reporting to Management your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing grinding work using manual machinery
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine job requirement
- Planning machine operations and estimating job time
- Inspecting parts prior and upon completion
- Assisting production and operation related tasks when required
- Exposure to NC Machines
- Cylindrical and surface grinding, and on conventional lathes;
- Performing grinding work using manual machinery
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Planning machine operations and estimating job times
- Inspecting parts prior and upon completion
- Assisting production and operation related tasks when required
To secure one of these outstanding opportunities you will need to demonstrate:
- Min 3-5 years - Cylindrical and surface grinding, including ID and OD and taper, using steady and between centre grinding - Surface grinding including radius and angle grinding, slot grinding and profile grinding
- Experience on conventional lathes;
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Good mechanical reasoning and aptitude
- Willingness and aptitude to learn and become first class grinder - Confidence and capability in working with microns in tolerances - Self-starter and team player
Qualifications required:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate as a Fitter/Machinist or First Class Machinist.
