We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.Unit Description:The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department provides Inpatient and Outpatient care and Elective/emergency endoscopy for patients with Gastroenterology and Hepatology conditions.The Department rotates one of three positions to the Peter MacCallum Cancer hospital (4mth/year/trainee) to provide inpatient consultative, outpatient and endoscopy servicesAbout the role:The Gastroenterology Registrar provides an inpatient and outpatient service at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.The job rotates between 3 positions in 1–2-month blocks. Two of the positions are at RMH where one predominantly centres on the care of inpatients and ward referrals, whilst the other position covers Endoscopy, Hepatobiliary medicine and nutrition. At the Peter MacCallum Hospital the position covers ward referrals, outpatient clinics and endoscopy. It is expected that trainees will spend equal amounts of their time in each of these positions over the year.On call is rostered equally divided between the Gastroenterology Registrars and Fellows (Endoscopy, IBD and Hepatology) to cover Ward patients and Emergency endoscopy. The frequency of on call depends on the exact number of trainees but approx. 1 weeknight and 1 weekend in 5.About You:
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Current Gastroenterology Advanced Trainee
- Ability to work in a team
