Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest metropolitan public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and statewide services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, and socio- economic status, population and healthcare needs.
About the role
The Eastern Health Department of Gastroenterology has progressively developed and expanded with a significant academic profile in liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease and functional gastrointestinal disorders. There is an active research and teaching program reflecting these areas of expertise, in addition to wide ranging academic collaborations with other research institutions.
The Department of Gastroenterology inpatient clinical service is based at both Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals with 20-25 inpatients split across these sites. Endoscopy services are provided at Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals. There are several general and subspecialised clinics located across Eastern Health as well as mature models of care that support telehealth to more isolated patients and communities.
For a suitable applicant, there are also strong partnerships and the opportunity for an academic (Professorial or Associate Professorial) appointment with Monash University and Eastern Health Clinical School. Monash has a clear purpose to deliver ground-breaking intensive research; a world-class education; a global ecosystem of enterprise – and activate these to address some of the challenges of the age, Climate Change, Thriving Communities and Geopolitical Security. Eastern Health Clinical School (EHCS) is one of three metropolitan clinical schools in the Monash University Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
