Koala Farms are currently looking for an experienced 2IC Nursery Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join our high performing nursery team, to assist in growing of seedlings to support business production.
Key duties include:
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the planning, organising and delivery of all pre-planting preparation processes through to meeting planting schedule and next stages of production.
- Ensure the day to day tasks including seeding, growing, pest and disease management are focused on sustainable production.
- Identify and resolve any potential obstacles/disruptions through to completing pre-planting processes and raise and resolve issues with the Nursery Manager.
- Conduct watering and chemical application as required
- Assist with the coordination of plant delivery
- Work with the Nursery Manager, provide leadership in the performance management and development of team members
- Ensure maintenance jobs are followed up and completed
- Assist Nursery Team members in their tasks
- Ensure QA and WHS protocols are followed
The successful applicant will need:
- Previous nursery experience - a minimum of 3 years.
- Chem Cert Certificate and Forklift Licence required.
- Computer skills would be advantageous.
- Must be self-motivated and goal orientated, energetic and passionate, who takes pride in all aspects of their work and strives for excellence
- Uses initiative, thinks outside the box
- Demonstrates quality leadership skills and outstanding communication
- Must be happy to be part of a team or to work individually
- Possess a strong work ethic and has a high degree of integrity
- Must have own transport.
