The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network's (SALHN) Aboriginal Family Clinics are the clinical service delivery arm of the Aboriginal Health Service and provides comprehensive health care in the community, tailored meaningfully for the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumer’s needs.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality clinical services to Aboriginal clients, focusing on individual performance and providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary healthcare approach. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide proficient clinical medical care and individual case management to Aboriginal people.
- Actively engage in teaching medical students, trainee medical officers, Nursing, and Allied Health professionals.
- Participate in clinical audit, quality, safety, clinical risk management activities, and research.
- Promote the health and wellbeing of the Aboriginal community by delivering responsive and comprehensive primary health care services.
- Work collaboratively with the Regional Manager, Clinical Services to advance the model of care at Aboriginal Family Clinics.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and appropriate Specialist Qualifications.
- The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals, families, and communities from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team.
- For senior Medical Consultant - a minimum of 5 years relevant post graduate experience working in a community health centre or a primary care unit within a hospital.
