In partnership with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA), the University of Tasmania (UTAS) is expanding its course offerings at Melbourne Study Centre. The suite of offerings includes AACSB-accredited business courses, health courses as well as ACS-accredited IT courses on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The portfolio will continue to grow in the coming years.
We are seeking to appoint an Academic Manager (Business Courses) who will be responsible for all operational aspects of the academic delivery and quality assurance of the business courses offered at the Melbourne Study Centre. They will play a critical role in delivering a high-quality and engaging student experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the delivery of all business courses at the Melbourne Study Centre, meets or exceeds the requirements and standards of UTAS.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure that academic delivery requirements are resourced and met.
- Advise the Academic Director on the continuous improvement of delivery, student experience and campus academic operations.
- Teach two or more subjects in the courses offered at Melbourne Study Centre
- Conduct student consultation and academic counselling for students who require additional support.
- Implement early intervention strategies in collaboration with Learning Support Coordinator for students-at-risk and monitor their progress according to UTAS’ Policies and Procedures
- Maintain currency in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and that of the incumbent’s discipline by undertaking scholarly work and professional development.
As the successful candidate, you will ideally have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- Desirable:
- Graduate Certificate or above in learning and teaching or tertiary education
- Experience in higher education quality assurance.
- Experience with third-party course delivery.
- Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in higher education teaching in ANZ
- Experience in subject or course coordination/management.
- Demonstrated track record in supporting the success of international students.
- Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students
