The Access Worker is accountable for providing information and advice to customers on their housing options and assessing eligibility for clients to access crisis and supported accommodation, social housing and private rental assistance. It is also responsible in engaging people and clients with more complex and/or diverse needs to assist them to access appropriate social housing, homelessness and other services to meet their needs. As well as conducting appropriate housing needs based assessments and other risk and vulnerability assessments, to enable clients' access to appropriate social housing and private rental services and to put in place or monitor any necessary safeguards identified and/or required.
Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Clearance prior to being employed.
- The successful applicant may be required to hold a current Australian issued Driver's Licence, which must be maintained.
- Appointment will be to a specific Region within SA Housing Authority with possible movement to any other Region depending on organisational needs. The incumbent may be assigned to any other area to perform work of a similar nature appropriate to the classification on a temporary or continuing basis.
- The incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse under the Children's Protection Act 1993.
