Overview
ACCIONA/Western Harbour Tunnel Project are committed to supporting the development of Women in Engineering by offering the opportunity to receive a scholarship grant, grow their knowledgebase through practical learnings and kick start their career on an iconic tunnelling project.
The scholarship offered by the ACCCIONA/Western Harbour Tunnel Project will provide two (2) successful recipients with:
Financial support for tuition fees.
1st year of study: $2,500
2nd year of study: $5,000
3rd year of study: $7,500
4th year of study: $10,000 (pro rata for successful final year recipients)
5th year of study (if applicable): $10,000 (pro rata for successful final year recipients)
Paid work experience for the duration of the recipient's scholarship.
The ability to kick start a career in the field of engineering!
The contract to design and construct Stage 2 of Sydney Western Harbour Tunnel is a significant and iconic project helping connect WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney. The project will greatly increase transport capacity around the Harbour CBD, allowing for reduced congestion and an easier and faster way for people to move around Sydney.
Scholarship Eligibility CriteriaRequired Skills and Competencies
Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen
Identify as a women enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), majoring/specialising in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or any subsequent double degree) for the duration of the Scholarship
Be enrolled in a full-time study capacity
Have achieved and maintained a Weighted Annual Mark (WAM) of 65+
Be willing to provide proof of enrolment and updates on the academic progress for the duration of the Scholarship
Be available to commence paid work experience in the month of July 2024
Not hold any other Scholarship or employment, unless approved by exception
Commit to ensuring the information provided to ACCIONA for the duration of the Scholarship is true and accurate
Agree to all other terms and conditions outlined in the casual Employment Agreement that will be received upon successful placement
In the event the successful recipient is in their final year of study, successfully meet the expectations of Scholarship arrangement and their casual Employment Agreement, they must agree to remain engaged for the duration of the ACCIONA Global Graduate Program or another mutually agreed alternative employment arrangement.
