The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14-kilometre stretch of road that will bypass of the Coffs Harbour urban area, from Englands Road in the South to Sapphire in the North and is a once-in-a-generation project for the Mid-North Coast community.
Ferrovial and Gamuda (FGJV) are the proud design and construct joint venture delivery partners of the Coffs Harbour Bypass – a significant, unique and exceptional major infrastructure project that will leave a legacy of innovation and sustainability in the region for communities of today and tomorrow.
Work as a key technical expert, providing guidance and project deliverables to the delivery team, ranging from defect management and close out.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively maintain an understanding of project management plans and associated variations to the scope of works.
- Plan, coordinate and support works, equipment and personnel as required.
- Support project management and engineering teams with relevant aspects of the project delivery phases.
- Set up and monitor estimation procedures and provide training as required for the Coffs Harbour project and others.
- Assisting the project team in organising relevant approvals and permits as required.
- Develop (if needed), review and update systems functional design documentation including but not limited to CONOPS, Traffic Incident Management Plans, Interfaces Control Documents (ICD), control specs (I/O lists), relevant technical information, etc.
- Provide inputs to the RWOMCS subcontractor.
- Liaising with clients and third-party vendors on aspects of the design, procurement, development, implementation and construction, providing feedback or request for information to the designer.

- Develop (if needed), review and update testing documentation (Testing Specifications, Procedures and Test Cases) for all testing phases according to the V-Model.
- Defects management, analysis and reporting including defect triage meetings with the team, client, vendors and Independent Certifier.
- Supervision/Monitoring of subcontractor testing process until project completion.
- Assurance of requirements traceability until project completion (design, development, implementation, installation, testing, commissioning and completion).
- Onsite works activities supervision.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial Electronics and Automation, Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar field of engineering.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Project Engineering role in the construction or major infrastructure industries, with particular focus on ITS, OMCS and control systems for Tunnel and Surface projects.
- Desirable high level knowledge of PLCs (Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, Citect), SCADA.
- Highly desirable knowledge and experience in ITS (PA/RRB, Mobile, O&M Radio, Electronic Signages, Tunnel Closure, CCTV, AVIDS, Vehicle Detection, Telephones).
- Highly desirable knowledge and experience in OMCS (PMCS, TMCS, Traffic Plans, Conops).
- Highly desirable knowledge and experience in COTS products (Genetec, Citilog, Optimus, Barco, Turbonet).
- Previous experience in working within a project-oriented team on a major civil construction/infrastructure project.
- Preparedness to coordinate project and site meetings with tender teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong knowledge in requirements management tool such as JIRA, DOORS, Completions Connect, GLAASS, etc.
- Strong knowledge in Australian Standards, TfNSW Scope of Works and Technical Criteria, TfNSW Specification D&C (TSXX), TfNSW Specification (TSI-SP-XXX).
- Proven verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop and maintain diverse stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to project values and behaviours.
