My client is a privately-owned Australian manufacturer specialising in high quality conveyor components, conveyor pulleys, rollers, idlers and associated bulk materials handling components. Our products can be found throughout the Australian and international mining, construction, and industrial sectors.
They have an opportunity for a highly motivated Account Manager to drive new business outcomes and develop key Australian and International clients. This is an autonomous hand-on sales and technical support position based in WA Bayswater. Travel to client operations, both site and ports will be required to support your key clients.
Role and Responsibilities
The Account Manager will work as part of a dedicated team to meet (and exceed!) company targets as well as implementing strategic plans to increase sales and ensure client retention. Reporting to the Aftermarket Sales Manager the Account Manager will also work closely with our engineering and estimating departments to ensure our clients are receiving added value solutions.
Also be responsible (amongst others) for the following key performance areas.
- Maintaining, developing, and growing key relationships with all levels of personnel within your client organisations, both on site and at head office.
- Recognising, developing, and closing sales opportunities on client requirements and expectations. ensuring prompt quotations, technical recommendations and support are provided.
- Meeting (and exceeding!) annual sales targets for the conveyor components range.
- Managing and developing your specific key clients.
- Undertaking regular visits to client operations and providing support and feedback to clients.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of client operations to provide both solutions and continuous improvement.
- Implementing exclusive client supply and fixed price agreements wherever possible for their conveyor component range.
We are looking for candidates with the following capabilities and skills:
- A technical and/or mechanical background within the mining and materials handling industry. (Preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience with sales to the mining industry. (Conveyor components desirable)
- Experience with Sales on an International level (Indonesia Preferred)
- An enthusiastic and passionate service attitude to go above and beyond our client’s expectations.
- The ability to communicate effectively on all levels, with total commitment to quality and teamwork.
- The ability to take the initiative and work autonomously, building strong client relationships and achieving results.
- Demonstrated success in ‘hunter’ sales preferably within conveyor components field.
- Computer skills proficient in Microsoft suite – word, excel etc
