Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies to ensure financial stability and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements suitable for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies.
- Conduct financial analysis, prepare detailed reports, undertake audits, and provide expert advice on various financial matters.
- Examine operating costs and analyse income and expenditure to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Provide assurance regarding the accuracy of information within financial reports and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Offer expert financial and taxation advice pertaining to business structures, strategic plans, and day-to-day operations.
- Introduce and maintain accounting systems and advise on the selection and implementation of computer-based accounting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain internal control systems to safeguard financial assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Assess cash flow and evaluate the financial risk associated with capital investment projects when necessary.
- Offer services related to compliance-based financial reporting, auditing, insolvency, and accounting information systems. Provide guidance on associated record-keeping requirements.
Qualification & Skill Level Required
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
- Two years of relevant experience in accounting and closely-related accounting experience
- Vast knowledge in accounting, taxation, high operational knowledge in accounting systems
- Have strong communication skills, and attention to detail
- Have a strong work ethic
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Working towards/Completion of CA/CPA is an advantage
