As a key member of the Finance Team, your role ensures that the payroll function across the group is completed with a high level of accuracy. Other than processing fortnightly pay runs this role is also responsible for State and Federal tax obligations and assisting the finance team with payroll related accounting responsibilities.
This is a 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover, working part time 6 days across a fortnight in our Burnley Support Centre. Working days will be Mondays and Tuesdays with the other day/s being flexible.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Process and pay fortnightly salary across 4 entities.
- Manage State and Federal taxation obligations
- Ensure that pay is processed in line with award and federal requirements
- Manage the onboarding process and input new employee payroll information into Xero and any other required portal.
- Provide advice and education to employees in relation to pay issues, award changes and new policies
- Assist/lead in any payroll related audits where required
You will be an experienced Payroll Manager, with prior knowledge in the retail industry. Key prior experience includes processing payroll for a workforce of permanent and casual staff and a high level of knowledge of payroll compliance is essential for this role. You will also bring your comprehensive knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award, with prior practical experience with the Storage Services and Wholesale Award beneficial. Advanced computer software skills in Excel, Xero, Deputy will be highly beneficial.
Moreover, you will be personable, have excellent communication skills as your ability to interact employees will be critical to success in this role.
