The Role – Accountant
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. A commitment to integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents. This involves recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all entries are classified correctly.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development, monitoring, and analysis of budgets and forecasts to provide insight into financial performance and support decision-making processes.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data and analysis.
Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and prevent fraud. Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
What we are looking for:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required.
- 3+ years relevant experience within a finance team.
- Experience in accounting software packages like Xero.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to expertly navigate Finance systems and streamline business processes.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, to work both independently and as part of a team.
