Reliable Hunter Pty Ltd is an experienced recruiting company, now we are looking for a professional Accountant for our client company!

About the company and the vacancy

We are one of Tasmania's leading food retailers with 10 stores. A team of dedicated support people run the administrative side of our business including IT, marketing, finance and human resources. Our recent annual income was 153.9 million and employed over 800 staff members.

We are seeking an accountant (general) who will work as part of the finance team. You will be a qualified Accounting professional or currently working towards this. You will have some experience in accounting/management accounting. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of financial information systems and have advanced use of Excel.

In this role, you will focus on:

• Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
• Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow
• Completing and reviewing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations including timely clearance of reconciling items
• Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
• Responsible for updating and maintaining accounting policies and systems
• Responsible for the preparation of company’s operational budget/forecasts
• Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures
• Reporting to management regarding financial activity of the company

As an Accountant, you will bring a positive outlook, with key attributes to include:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 5+ working experience as accountant
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular- Excel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong numeracy and data management skills
