We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our company at Bayswater Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality accounting tasks across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations within the company, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data.
- Maintaining customer accounts, generating invoices and follow up payment.
- Monthly financial reporting.
- Expert handling of the payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, tax deductions, and superannuation contributions.
- BAS preparation and reporting.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, postings, and reports with MYOB & XERO accounting software to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs.
- Preparing and compiling company financial reports for management – Profit Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, including analysis of expenditure to support operational stakeholders.
- Assisting with maintaining financial records for the Group of companies by analysing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with procurement ensures efficient purchasing, cashflow planning maintains financial stability, and managing inventory flow keeps stock levels optimal.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master Degree of Professional Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification work experience (Australian experience preferred).
- CPA qualification or actively progressing towards certification (preferred).
- Proficient in accounting software (experience in MYOB & XERO preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Advanced time management skills including the planning, prioritizing and scheduling of tasks.
