SGH is one of Australia's largest privately-owned and operated family business, comprising of the Spotlight Retail Group, the Spotlight Property Group, Spotlight Group Investments, Spotlight Direct Investments and the Spotlight Charitable Foundation.
Spotlight Group Holdings (Australia's largest family business) is seeking an Accountant to support their growing Family Office & Investments team. You'll manage monthly/quarterly reports and assist the Family Office & Charitable Foundation. Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Group CFO & Family Stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing
We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
You'll play a key role in managing the financial affairs of SGH (Spotlight Group Holdings), its Investment Entities, the Spotlight Charitable Foundation, and other affiliates.
- Prepare financial reports (monthly/quarterly) for investment entities.
- Assist with Group financials (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow).
- Support statutory reporting, audits, and Board presentations.
- Manage payments, stakeholder obligations, and tax requirements (BAS, FBT etc.).
- Work closely with internal teams (Investments, Treasury) and external stakeholders.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations as well as handle ad-hoc projects.
About You
- You must have demonstrated experience with business partnering and financial analysis within Finance
- Strong understanding of different legal structures, Division 7A & UPE requirements.
- CA/CPA qualified with 3-5 years' experience.
- Experience working within a Family Office environment, or Business Services with large family groups.
- Proficiency in Xero, MS Excel & PowerPoint.
- Experience in automating & streamlining processes.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Strict confidentiality & attention to detail.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement & manage time effectively.
