THE ROLE
Project Officer
The Project Officer role in the Aboriginal Strategy Unit will provide project, program and policy support to implement key aspects of Dhelk Dja; Safe our Way – Strong Cultures, Strong Peoples, Strong Families and support its associated governance structures including the Dhelk Dja Partnership Forum and Sub Groups. Critical projects to deliver in the next 12 months include the development of an Aboriginal Industry Plan for Family Violence, Aboriginal Access Points service design and implementation of the Dhelk Dja Fund
The Project Officer is required to perform important project management, logistical and administrative functions to ensure that projects and funding aligned to Dhelk Dja are implemented in a timely matter that reflects Aboriginal community priorities. The role also supports building strong relationships across Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal services, Family Safety Victoria, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and other government departments to support outcomes in line with Dhelk Dja.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide project and logistical support for a number of projects, programs and consultation processes aligned to Dhelk Dja.
- Maintain close liaison and effective relationships with Aboriginal community, service and Government stakeholders.
- Responsible for logistical and administrative tasks including venue and accommodation bookings and catering related to the Dhelk Dja Partnership Forum and its related governance structures.
