The Role
An opportunity to join a fun, friendly and professional team in their Melbourne office. They are seeking a dynamic, well presented, driven Public Practice Accountant with relevant experience in an accounting firm. With proven capability managing a portfolio of clients and building new business, you will also possess strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare general work papers and spreadsheets in support of the client’s source documents
- Provide general assistance with the processing of all bookkeeping and accounting tasks for your team
- Prepare and finalise financial statements and taxation obligation returns and schedules
- Review and discuss financial statements and tax returns with clients regarding outcomes
- Preparation and review of communication with the ATO & SRO
- Review and advise on corporate obligations and tax effect of business structures
- Provide client assistance with compliance issues related to matters arising from PAYG, GST, Workcover, Superannuation, Centrelink and other government agencies
- Relevant educational qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA or CPA qualified
- A minimum of 2 years Public Practice experience
- Experience using Xero, Practice Manager & MYOB cloud-based software preferred
- Demonstrated analytical / problem solving ability
- Organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of Client Service skills
- Teamwork skills as you will be part of a large team and work collaboratively with your colleagues
