How you'll make an impact
We are seeking a Compliance Manager for a Parental Leave contract through to July 2025 to join our Line 2 team, where you will be a key team member, influencer and advisor across GB. You will be integral in developing, maintaining and continuing to uplift GB’s approach to compliance management.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, Compliance & Ethics, you will work alongside the Risk and Legal team to develop, maintain and implement compliance policies and procedures and to provide independent and objective compliance advice to our internal and external clients. You bring a systematic and disciplined approach through continuous evaluation, monitoring and improvement. You will be able to quickly understand, interpret, advise and report on compliance activities including Australian Financial Services Licensing, Privacy and Modern Slavery.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Design and maintain GB’s enterprise compliance framework and implement procedures to ensure conformity
- Have accountability for GB’s Modern Slavery Program, including supplier due diligence and annual submission of GB’s Modern Slavery Report
- Have accountability for GB’s Privacy Compliance program, including maintenance of the Privacy Framework and Policy
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accurate response(s)/submission(s) to regulators with regards to licensing, registration and ongoing operational reporting
- Support the Chief General Counsel, Head of Legal, Compliance & Ethics and Head of Risk with preparing regulator correspondence
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Identify, mitigate and manage compliance risk and provide proactive support, assurance and advice in respect of interpreting compliance requirements for new/changed regulation, emerging risks, and new services/products
- Coach the Risk Audit & Compliance team, assurance professionals, and business units to support them to be able to provide compliance advice on the daily business operations
- Continually and actively develop technical knowledge in relation to the regulatory framework governing GBand its operations
- Collaborate with other departments, including P&C and IT, to develop and implement effective compliance programs
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business, finance or a related discipline
- Post-grad/business qualifications (Grad Cert/MBA/CA/IIA) – highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within a Line 2 compliance function
- Success in leading and embedding a quality compliance culture
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and maintaining policies and internal procedures
- Excellent/Advanced stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in compliance plan reporting, conducting compliance audits and investigations, compliance attestation processes, breach assessment and reporting, regulatory change management
- Strong problem-solving and conceptual skills
