We have an opportunity in our Prestons head office, for a high performing, motivated Accountant to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING: Prepare and post general ledger journals. Assist in month end close including Balance Sheet reconciliations. Provide assistance and resolve queries regarding financial matters from internal and external stakeholders. Assist with year end close;
- MANAGEMENT AND BOARD REPORTING: Prepare monthly management reports and monthly reports to financiers. Liaise with management for end of month financial statement commentary. Provide support for tenement expenditure and reporting. Prepare expense analysis reports on expenditure and budgets;
- TAXATION: BAS and IAS preparation. FBT preparation. Assist with the preparation and lodgement of income tax;
- BUDGETS AND FORECASTS: Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, including cash requirements; and
- STATUTORY REPORTING: Assist with the preparation of quarterly, half-yearly and annual statutory financial reports as required under AIFRS, ASIC legislation and ASX listing rules. Analyse and apply relevant accounting standards. Liaise with external auditors and advisors. Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements for the Annual and Interim Reports.
What you will need to succeed
- Accounting degree;
- Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience
- Previous experience using Quickbooks/MYOB/Reckon/Xero preferred
- Proficient in MS office; Excel (intermediate to advanced), Word (intermediate);
- Proactive and able to work autonomously;
- Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to manage priorities to meet deadlines; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
