Accountant

Established in 2000, my client is an industry-leading South Australian, private family-owned, mechanical services provider based at Norwood. They are an end-to-end company with a diverse structure of qualifications, systems and infrastructure which allows them to provide personal attention to customer's requirements. They employ 120 staff. Their culture is one of innovation and improvement. 

About the role 

• You will handle and support the finance and service departments with day-to-day accounting financial and account management activities.
• Support the Finance function by preparing company financial accounts, analysis, reporting and month-end activities.
• You will also assist other finance and administration functions across the business where required.  

Essential duties and responsibilities  

• Maintaining accounting records.
• Carry out financial transactions and analysis.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register
• Assisting with accounts payable and receivable as required
• Performing Balance Sheet and Bank account reconciliations.
• Maintain the assets and liabilities of the company
• Review expenses 
• Maintain general ledgers
• End-of-month journal entries
• Job cost variation and cost to complete entry
• Assist with GST and FBT returns
• Assist with Annual budget preparation
• Assist in the preparation of Annual Financial statements
• Support the Payroll function payroll administration tasks
• Prepare monthly financial statements, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Economics with a major in Accounting
• Interest in pursuing CA/CPA and developing/establishing long-term Accounting career

Experience

• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of financial and accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics GP/Wennsoft, MYOB, or similar
• 5 years experience in a similar role    
• Microsoft O365 expert 
• Exceptional numerical skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• English will be your native language
