With ongoing business expansion and recent internal promotion within the finance team an opening has arisen for a dedicated Accountant with prior accounting experience in Assistant Accountant role or similar and drive for excellence to join our skilled and stable accounts team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the person we are seeking is fully committed to building a successful accounting career and ready to take their next step and assume the following responsibilities:
- Full end to end responsibility for the Accounts Payable functions and tasks
- Supporting Financial Controller on month end close requirements, month end journals, accruals, site cost reports and cost review
- Bank and General Ledger Reconciliations
- All fixed asset and capital expenditure accounts record keeping
- Maintaining company equipment & plant maintenance registers
- BAS/PAYG compliance returns and reconciliations
- Taxable payments reporting and contractors
- Raising and issuing client cost recovery invoices
- Credit card and staff expense claim administration
- Daily Cash flow management reporting
Your Skills and Experience
We are seeking applications from tertiary qualified accountants with (or intent on progressing) CPA/CA qualifications and with at least 1-2 years’ experience in commerce as Assistant Accountant or in a public accounting practice with the following skills profile:
- Proven ground level transaction level accounting process experience – particularly accounts payable processing which forms part of this role
- Familiarity with financial reporting processes and the ability to assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ideally, already able to complete GST/BAS requirements and lodgements
- Solid experience in MS Office and proficiency in Excel is highly regarded
- MYOB experience valuable but not essential
- Analytical, enabling you to contribute to insightful management reporting
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, whilst sustaining sufficient drive and determination to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a productive accounts team
- Have effective communication and social skills
- Positive 'can do' attitude and a hands-on approach with an eagerness to learn
