The Role

This role is responsible for contributing to the accurate and timely monthly reporting and financial reconciliations for Luerssen Australia.

Responsibilities 

Management Accounting (Actuals / Budgets / Forecasts)

• Prepare the overhead cost centre reports monthly
• Assist with the variance analysis and commentary for the monthly overhead cost centre reporting
• Assist with the overhead budgeting and forecasting cycles

Month end processes

• Contribute to completion of month end reporting package, including balance sheet reconciliations and presentation of financial data. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and run depreciation schedules
• Maintain the Capital / Software Work in Progress accounts, regular engagement with project / WIP owners to ensure accurate treatment
• Monitor and review the Aging Sub Ledgers, investigate, and find solutions for aged items
• Maintain the related parties’ transactions and back-up documentation
• Maintain the prepayments working and engage with stakeholders to determine ongoing requirements
• Accurately maintain the lease accounting records and transactional postings
• Support the processing and calculation of employee taxes, including capture of employee benefits, expense claims and payroll tax. 
• Complete the monthly BAS return and complete reconciliations

Cash flow reporting

• Update and provide accurate inputs into the cash flow model
• Prepare periodic cash flow reporting as required by the business 

General support

• Provide support to the Accounts Receivable & Payable processes as required 
• Provide support to the financial audit as required
• Provide support to the wider Finance team as required
• Willing to learn and contribute to the development of new processes
• Developing and participating in User Acceptance Testing Activities.
• Facilitates end-user training.
• Develops application support documentation.
• Conducting Root Cause and Corraction Analysis on application issues.

Requirements

• Accounting degree (required)
• Postgraduate qualification e.g., CA, CPA (desired)
• 3+ years of experience in accounting
• MS Excel (intermediate)
• MS Office (basic)
• Accounting software (intermediate)
• In depth understanding of accounting principles and standards
• Proven ability to interpret project contracts and review project claims
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise and multitask
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy and completeness
