Role Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and diligent Accountant to join our finance department, based in our Cranbourne, VIC office. This role is integral to our operations and requires the candidate to work from the office location Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the Australian context, specifically with knowledge of the NDIS invoicing system, BAS preparation, payroll, and day-to-day reconciliation. Proficiency in Xero accounting software is a must. This role requires a blend of accounting expertise and a passion for contributing to a sector that makes a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations within the company, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Expert handling of the payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, tax deductions, and superannuation contributions.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, postings, and reports with Xero accounting software to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare and submit NDIS invoicing and manage claims process efficiently to ensure timely revenue collection.
- Assist in the preparation and lodgment of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other statutory returns.
- Provide financial reports and analyses as required by management for decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and systems that support the organization's operations and strategic goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting roles, preferably within the NDIS or health and disability services sector.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Australian payroll systems, taxation, and superannuation regulations.
- Experience with NDIS invoicing and an understanding of BAS preparation and lodgment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
