The Position
The Accountant role reports directly to the Accounts Manager. The role oversees the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.
The Accountant is to perform daily accounting
tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
- Maintain records of financial transactions for multiple entities in different accounting systems
- Assist with the recording of multiple companies' ATO compliance
and liaising with external accountant - Assist with the management of Scion Group's cash flow Ongoing
- Perform EOM Processes and reconciliations on time and be responsible for the integrity of the data
- Assist with the related parties' journals and transaction recording
- Post monthly journals and accrual Monthly
Assist with the monthly reporting package to the group Monthly - Enter AP and AR Invoices promptly Daily
- Reconcile monthly statements for suppliers and process payments on time
- Prepare reconciliation between Procore and Accounting Systems every month
- Check Subcontractor's Insurance before processing invoice payments
- Financial Reporting: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for overheads
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Perform bank reconciliation daily in different systems
- Ensure payroll is performed correctly in a timely fashion
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years in finance
- Proven experience as an Accountant in the construction industry or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
