The Team
We are seeking a passionate Accounts & Administration Officer to work across our practice, on a permanent, part-time basis working 2 to 3 days per week from our Perth office. Reporting to the Practice Director, and in a job share arrangement, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the finance function, as well as assisting the Legal leadership team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
The Role
- Managing on-time delivery of end of month entries for the monthly management accounts, half and full year statutory financial reports.
- Assisting in updating cash flow, P&L, and budgeting forecasting.
- Processing end of month expense allocations.
- Processing of accounts payable to ensure suppliers are paid for both matters and general costs.
- Processing of accounts receivable to ensure cash inflows, and analysing and actioning ageing debtors.
- Preparing and lodging of BAS/GST returns.
- Ensuring compliance with all trust regulation requirements, including managing receipts, payments, transfers, bank reconciliations and trust audits.
- Managing renewals of insurance, professional memberships, Legal subscriptions.
- Maintaining access to court portals.
- Managing e-lodgements to court system, and closed file archiving as required.
- Experience in trust accounting is preferred.
- Experience in a similar full function accounts officer role is preferred.
- Previous law firm or professional services experience is desirable, but not essential for success.
- Audit experience is desirable, but not essential for success.
- Experience working for an ASX-listed entity is desirable, but not essential for success.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Deadline driven with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as follow processes and direction from supervisors.
