Job description
This position reports directly to the Senior Accounts Officer for day-to-day guidance and work planning. However, the role has inherent high-level accountability and responsibility for the provision of professional, timely and accurate advice and excellence in service delivery standards.
The main emphasis of this position is to keep on top of the invoicing & data entry, but you will also complete end-to-end A/P & A/R, expense reimbursement, bank reconciliations, creditor management, payroll, super, payroll tax and even BAS, if able.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports
• Regularly report to management regarding the financial management issues and escalate any issues that may be of concern
• Reconcile accounts, balance off debits and credits, understand period end cut-offs and accruals.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive interpersonal relationships with the key managers and staff.
• Secure financial information by completing data base backups (MYOB & inspHire)
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Update monthly profit & loss spreadsheets for Managing Directors
• Review and payment of staff expenses and corporate credit cards.
• Reconcile General Ledger
• Prepare month-end journals and accruals and undertake balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure job numbers are allocated to appropriate purchases and sales at all times.
• Print job profit and loss reports for Management / Operation
• Maintain standing data in MYOB.
• Daily check, verification, and importation of data into MYOB
• Online banking payments and account maintenance
The Successful Candidate:
• We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper with a strong working knowledge of MYOB and Excel
• A Certificate IV or degree is preferable but not essential.
• Be available to work three days a week
