What is the role?
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will work cross functionally to lead the AR & AP function effectively and seamlessly by coordinating transactions, monitoring cash positions and aged receivables/payables, following up with vendors and suppliers for overdue payments, setting up payments to vendors and reconciling bank accounts and invoices.
Additionally, the role will assist with managing the month end close process, including departmental reporting and administering the processing, approval, and payment of retailer claims.
Key duties:
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable & Payable portfolio, ensuring all invoices are paid on time in line with agreed payment terms
- Facilitate the approval and payment of customer claims by partnering with the Sales team and relevant Account Manager
- Liaise with external customers and issue account statements, retrieve copies of remittances and claims and discuss overdue/unpaid amounts
- Prepare and upload supplier payments into Bank Portal
- Liaise cross-functionally with departments to ensure timely approval of supplier invoices
- Oversee the AR&AP inbox, ensuring any queries are responded to in a timely manner and all claims are processed within the Financial System
- Review and approve customer sales invoices to verify correct unit pricing and discounts are applied
- Maintain accurate customer master data in systems, including customer discounts and net invoice pricing by SKU
- Bank account maintenance including the reconciliation of daily cash transactions
- Assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of cash flow forecasts, based on expected customer receipts and claims
- Prepare weekly reports on Accounts Receivable and Account Payable portfolios, summarising key overdue and action plans
- Assist with the preparation of Monthly Management Reports and Weekly Sales Reports for the APAC region
- Assist with the month-end close process, raising manual journal entries where required
Who are you?
You could be our Accounts Assistant!
With 2+ years of experience in a similar role within an FMCG or beauty brand (advantageous), you have a keen interest and excitement for the beauty category backed by a bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance, and your CA/CMA (advantageous).
You have strong time and project management skills and can thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, team environment. You have intermediate excel skills and enjoy analysing information with your detailed approach and financial acumen.
You are hyper organised with strong business partnering skills – you can clearly express ideas, information, and updates to key internal and external stakeholders, collaborating and negotiating effectively to manage expectations and ensure financial excellence.
A driven problem solver, you apply your perspective to problem solve and leverage these opportunities to innovate processes to be efficient and effective. You are a detailed oriented, motivated, results driven, personable and reliable team member who enjoys working toward and contributing to a broader goal and purpose.
