Job description

The opportunity to join our team

Our Financial Planning Assistant role at Shadforth is a great learning point if this the direction that you’d like to take your career, no experience is required, and full training is provided. You’ll be responsible for task management, compliance requirements, preparing paperwork, interacting with clients, responding to emails and advisor and calendar management. There’s also implementation of advice to be actioned, booking client meetings and reviewing meeting documentation.

Our Shadforth Advisors are very experienced and highly successful at what they do, they are great at mentoring, so you’ll learn a lot from the best in the business. While we encourage career progression and want to help you develop in this role, we are looking for successful candidates to be willing to commit to this role for at least 2-3 years before looking to explore your next internal career move. During that time, you’ll have the opportunity to join client meetings (at a very junior level) while you learn the ins and outs of the business. The team work 3 days in the office with Tuesdays being the anchor day, now that you’ve read all this if you think you have what it takes, we’d love to see your application come through.

What you will bring

While you don’t need to have experience in a similar role, we’re really looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who has sound knowledge of superannuation, pensions and investments. Maybe you’re a recent graduate who is looking for that first step towards their dream role? This is a fast-paced role, so you must be well organised, know how to prioritise your work and be able to manage your time effectively to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and thoroughly.

Given the nature of the role, having solid attention to detail combined with strong written and verbal communication skills is extremely important. It goes without saying that having great customer service and strong team working skills are a must have, so too is being open and willing to learn as you develop in your career. That being said you don’t have to want to become an advisor, this is a great foundational space working with a team who love what they do, and the perfect opportunity for you to join a highly engaged team.

Make your move. Make your mark.

What gets us excited about working here? Helping people do more with their money. From those starting out to those retiring. As your team, we’ll show up for you and together we will create financial wellbeing for every Australian. Because we know people who are confident about their financial future live better lives

If this sounds like your kind of career, you sound like our kind of person. Here, you’ll be making a positive impact in people’s lives straightaway – and every day. The first point of contact for our clients whenever they need support.

Along the way, you’ll be free to learn new skills, grow, and get great things done. Around here, we like to call it “putting our fingerprints on the future”.

Showing up for every Australian

We’re one of Australia’s leading financial wellbeing organisations, helping people feel good about their money. This starts by helping our people feel good about working here. That means flexibility. Plenty of opportunity. And celebrating all the unique things that make you, you – what matters to you, matters to us.
