Our client is a leading provider of childcare services with a national presence. They are seeking an energetic Assistant Accountant to join their growing team in a fulltime role with hybrid flexibility. This role supports the Financial Controller and finance team by managing banking transactions, vendor invoices, and various financial reports to ensure the smooth running of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor daily banking transactions, update monthly databases, and ensure accurate application of payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations, coding transactions correctly, and matching bonds and fees with cash received.
- Process bond deposits and refunds, reconcile family accounts, and handle weekly bond reports.
- Manage employee reimbursements, calculate childcare reimbursements, and process expense claims.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including fixed asset registers and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely entries.
- Support additional finance functions and provide explanations to accountants for transaction queries.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Commerce.
- Understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and general IT literacy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
