POSITION TITLE: Accounts Officer
PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining accounting records, ensuring MOWFC finances are accurate and up to date.
REPORTS TO: The Manager and Office Manager.
HOURS: 76 hours per fortnight
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage and maintain accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial data.
2. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements and other financial accounts regularly.
3. Maintain customer records in GISMOW.
4. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely and professional manner.
5. Prepare all Debtor Invoices and forward to Customers, Third Party Service Providers and other consumer’s. Process all incoming funds via Bank Feeds in MYOB.
6. Record, process, and collate client information between GISMOW and MYOB including invoices, payments and other relevant information.
7. Liasing with clients, Third Party Providers and other consumers to ensure payments are received within specified timeframes. Implementing
8. Prepare bank deposits and ensure depositing into Bendigo bank on a weekly basis.
9. Receive, process, and reconcile Creditor invoices and process payments in a timely manner.
10. Print Debtor and Creditor reports for weekly management meetings.
11. Liaise with Office Manager regarding transactions, and other general issues.
12. Maintain accurate records of transactions, manage vendor relationships including negotiating payment terms and resolving disputes.
13. Perform basic office tasks, including answering telephone calls, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
14. Abide by all organizational policies, procedures, Aged Care Quality Standards, Workplace Health & Safety Standards.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Ability to work as a team member.
· Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft, MYOB and GISMOW.
· Solid understanding of basic accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable principles.
· Ability to calculate, post and manage financial records.
· Accurate data entry skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to build good relationships with vendors, suppliers and clients.
· Ability to prioritise and multitask.
· Courteous, professional manner, and strong customer service skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the telephone and in person.
