About the role:
Due to the rapid growth, we are now seeking a driven Accounts Officer who will support our finance team with Accounts Payable and Receivable functions. Based in our Banksmeadow office, this role reports to the CFO and will be a key member within the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the AP functions related to offering contra for debtor who has an AP and AR account.
- Manage payment of suppliers in accordance with payment terms.
- Respond to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice. discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Issue timely and accurate invoices and statements to all Clients and request timely payment of outstanding debts.
- Contact clients on outstanding debts and assist in closing debts.
- Resolve any Client dispute and assist in a payment plan if required.
- Conduct credit checks for new customers and complete credit application for new supplier.
- Regularly monitor the completeness and accuracy of supplier records and master files.
- Update job accruals and investigate any discrepancies.
- Complete daily or weekly receipting for foreign currency bank accounts.
- Upload invoices and complete bank reconciliation on weekly and monthly basis for DF account.
- Assist with month-end closing reports and reconciliations.
- Generate Aging AR report on weekly basis and assist with audits.
- Reconcile job entries from internal system.
- Other duties as required from time to time.
About You:
- At least 3 years experience in a similar Accounts / booking keeping role
- Qualifications – accounting, bookkeeping, finance accreditation (desired)
- Previous experience in AP reconciliation (desired)
- Previous experience in Cargowise or freight industry beneficial (Required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to all levels within an organisation
- Intermediate to advanced user of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Can-do, hands-on mindset with the ability to work autonomously as required
