Accounts Officer
Work Skills is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) based at Norman Park, Brisbane. This is an exciting role managing the accounts position with the support of an external accountancy firm and support staff.
We require a person to fulfil the fulltime role in the Accounts department. This role can be blended between working from the office at Norman Park and working from home.
Your role at Work Skills would require you to:
- Be accountable and able to manage company accounts
- Maintain high level of accuracy and detail
- Implement quality systems and best practices
- Data Entry into XERO
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Manage fortnightly payroll run including Superannuation
- Report and manage Accounts Receivable and Payable
- Bank, GST and Payroll reconciliations
- Process invoicing
- Manage student payment plans
- Prepare end of month reporting
- Prepare monthly client/s statement of account
- Completion of end of month and end of quarter procedures
- Preparation and/or reconciliation of annual payroll records
- Preparation of records for external accountant for quarterly and annual matters
- Maintenance and filing of business records
- Reconciliation, lodgement and payment of superannuation
- Follow up on outstanding accounts
- Complete financial audits across all student accounts
- Process staff expense claims
- Compliant with relevant legislation
- Enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Inform Directors of continuous improvements across the accounts department
- Escalate queries to Directors if unable to assist.

Professional Specifications:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (Desirable)
- Advance Diploma of Accounting (Highly regarded)
- Completion of Year 12 (desirable)
