We are looking for an experienced Accountants Payable Officer to provide efficient and effective financial services support to SDN Children’s Services and its controlled entities.

This is a 12 Month full-time contract position in our state-of-the-art new office located in Glebe, opposite Broadway Shopping Centre.

About the Role

• Ownership and management of IPOS (Internet Purchase Ordering System) – including set up and maintenance of supplier master, high volume payment processing, staff reimbursements, fundraising payments, bond/fee refund. 
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
• Coordinate the preferred supplier selection process and set up.
• Provide support and training to stakeholders in the use of IPOS. 
• Liaise with external & internal customers regarding outstanding payments, credit notes, reconciliations & other issues.
• Assist in GL reconciliations to maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts and month-end close. 
• Providing Audit support.
• End of Month tasks including Telstra and Utilities accruals, accruals, corrections, adjustments (expenses, GST etc.)
• Working knowledge of GST including BAS preparation and lodgement.
• Assist in implementation & maintenance of systems & internal controls throughout the organisation.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and reliable financial reports.
• Develop and maintain expertise in finance systems.

About You

• Diploma or University Degree in Accounting. 
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable function.
• Experience in a standalone Accounts Payable role is highly valued.
• Experience in dealing with suppliers.
• Experience operating in a medium to high volume transactional environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and maintaining well-documented files and reconciliations.
• Experience using Sunsystems, IPOS (internet purchase ordering system) and Promaster (Expense me) would be highly regarded (but not essential).
• Excel (Intermediate-advanced) user.
• National Police Check and Working with Children Check clearance (NSW).
