Part-Time Accounts Officer/Accounts Payable

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Officer supports the finance function by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and expenses. As a part of a small team in a growing business, you will have the opportunity to develop your professional skills in various areas and contribute to our continuous improvement journey. 

This role is on a part-time bases. E.g. 5 days with shortened working hours, or 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end AP duties ensuring invoice approval process is followed, invoices/payments are processed accurately and timely
• Reconcile vendor statements; resolve any discrepancies
• Prompt response to inquiries from both suppliers and internal teams 
• Perform bank reconciliation; liaise with bank on payment issues
• Perform Intercompany Accounting duties
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Process monthly BAS/GST return
• Assist with month end accruals and other month end accounting/reporting tasks

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Basic Accounting Knowledge with a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role
• Good communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders 
• Experience in using SAP system
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize task and meet deadlines
• Adopts a ‘hands on’ and ‘can do’ approach to their work
