About the Role
Reporting to the Area Financial Controller, working closely with the Finance Team and multiple Heads of Department across all business units. This role offers exposure to many aspects of Finance and is an environment that offers autonomy, growth, and development.
This involves, but is not limited to account reconciliation, supplier queries and correspondence and invoice discrepancies. The Accounts Payable Officer will also focus on process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
You will be situated at The Stamford Grand Adelaide, a stone’s throw away from the stunning beach side suburb of Glenelg.
Core Functions of your role
To be completed whilst ensuring set internal policies and procedures are honoured and all financial operational methodologies are respected.
Responsible for the proper accounting of the Goods and Services Tax in the A/P Ledger, ensure completeness and accuracy between all invoices received and the system data before importing into the General Ledger
At month end, carry out a reconciliation between inventory system ledger and Accounts Payable ledger to ensure the 2 ledgers agree
Reconcile suppliers' statement of account and follow up for any missing invoices
Reconciliation of supplier statements, outstanding cheques/payments from Bank Statement
Verify invoices for accuracy and authorisations. Making sure the approved purchase orders are attached and signed off by relevant department managers

About you
The ideal candidate is a team player, who has an understanding of state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave and National Employment Standards
A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to review policies and procedures according to current legislation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Adequate Microsoft and Excel office skills
Have legal requirements to live and work unrestricted in Australia
